About EV Drives

Independent specs, prices, and news for every electric vehicle on sale in Australia — sourced from manufacturers and government data, not other publications.

What this site covers

EV Drives tracks every battery-electric vehicle on sale (or imminently arriving) in the Australian market. We publish:

  • Detailed model pages with WLTP range, charging speeds, ANCAP rating and warranty for every EV available locally
  • Side-by-side comparisons between models Australians actually cross-shop
  • Regular news on launches, price changes, charging infrastructure and government policy
  • Long-form buyer guides covering home charging, running costs, incentives and what to avoid

Where our information comes from

For specifications, pricing and safety data, we work from primary sources:

  • Manufacturer Australian websites and pressroom announcements
  • The Australian Government's Green Vehicle Guide
  • ANCAP safety test results
  • Reports from the Electric Vehicle Council
  • Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) VFACTS data
  • Australian Bureau of Statistics adoption data

For driving impressions in reviews — ride quality, steering feel, real-world range observed on test — we synthesise from at least three named third-party automotive reviews (e.g. CarExpert, drive.com.au, CarsGuide, WhichCar, EV Central). Where reviewers disagree, we say so. Every review cites the publications it draws from.

News articles and guides cite the original primary source with an outbound link so you can verify the facts yourself. We do not paraphrase or rewrite analysis from other publications — we use them for facts and, in reviews, for the consensus on driving experience.

Accuracy and corrections

We do our best to keep prices and specifications up to date, but the EV market moves fast and manufacturers change pricing without notice. Always confirm pricing and specs with the manufacturer before purchase.

If you spot an error, please get in touch — we'll correct it and note the update.

Editorial independence

We have no commercial relationships with any vehicle manufacturer. We do not receive press cars, paid trips, or sponsored content. Reviews aggregate driving impressions from named third-party Australian automotive publications and frame our own analysis, recommendations and verdicts on top of that — we are transparent about exactly which reviewers we draw from on every review.
